The NCAA has officially announced the selections and qualifiers for the 2026 National Collegiate Women’s Gymnastics Championships. The announcement, released on April 6, 2026, confirms the teams and individuals who will advance to the final stage of the competition.

Among the individual qualifiers are Creslyn Brose and Delaynee Rodriguez. Both gymnasts secured their spots in the national meet by finishing as the highest-scoring individuals on their respective events from teams that did not advance.

The Elite Eight and National Finals

The competition is moving toward its conclusion in Fort Worth, where the Elite Eight teams will compete for the national title. This select group of eight teams includes the No. 1-ranked Sooners and the Golden Gophers.

Regional Selection Process

The path to the national championships began with the regional selections announced on March 23, 2026. The NCAA utilized the national qualifying score (NQS) to determine the participants for the regional rounds.

Regional Selection Process

The selection process for teams followed a specific structure:

  • The top 36 teams based on NQS were selected for regional competition.
  • The committee seeded the top 16 teams within the bracket.
  • Teams ranked 17 through 36 were placed geographically across four regional sites.
  • Each of the four regional sites hosted nine teams.

The NQS recorded at the time of the initial selections remained the standard for seeding throughout the duration of the championships.

Individual Qualifiers and Event Specialists

Beyond the team entries, the NCAA committee selected the top 12 all-around competitors and the top 16 event specialists based on their NQS. These individuals were placed into one of the four regional sites based on geography.

To ensure a fair competition, the list of all-arounders and event specialists included individual-qualifying scores from teams competing in the first round. This mechanism ensures that high-performing individuals can still compete in the individual competition even if their respective teams fail to advance past the first round.

In instances where a tie occurred for the final berth into regional competition or for seeding purposes, the NCAA implemented a tie-breaking procedure. The team, all-around competitor, or individual event specialist with the highest score—excluding the six scores used to calculate the NQS—was granted the qualification. If the tie persisted, this process was repeated until a winner was determined.

Regional Schedule and Locations

The regional competitions were distributed across four different locations with staggered dates in early April 2026.

The Baton Rouge and Tempe regionals took place from April 1 through April 4, 2026. Following those, the Corvallis and Lexington regionals were conducted from April 2 through April 5, 2026.

The successful navigation of these regionals has now led to the final field of teams and individuals heading to Fort Worth for the championship event.
