Two people were injured in a shooting on the Bishop Ford Freeway on the South Side of Chicago early Sunday, April 5, 2026, according to the Illinois State Police.
The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 94 near 115th Street, located in the city’s Pullman neighborhood. State police reported that troopers responded to the scene just before 1:30 a.m.
Following the shooting, the two injured individuals self-transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Traffic Disruptions and Road Closures
The shooting caused significant traffic impacts on the interstate for several hours. Northbound lanes of the Bishop Ford Freeway were closed and traffic was diverted at 130th Street.
Illinois State Police confirmed that all lanes of the freeway had reopened by 3:30 a.m. On April 5, 2026.
