LAS AMERICAS AIRPORT, Dominican Republic – Two young Dominican volleyball players, Ryni Merab Mondesí Arias and Cristal Mercedes Núñez, have embarked on a journey to Japan to pursue academic and athletic scholarships. The scholarships are part of a National Women’s Volleyball Selection project focused on promoting education alongside sports growth.
The athletes officially signed their scholarship agreements in October of the previous year, during a visit from Japanese school coaches to the Dominican Republic.
