Coach Mauricio Pochettino expressed hope that the injury is minor. “I hope it’s not a big issue,” Pochettino said Monday, adding that resting Adams for a few days might allow him to be ready for the Gold Cup.

Some are sidelined with injuries, while others are taking time off or participating in the Club World Cup. The team’s depth will be tested as they aim to avoid a fourth consecutive loss,a streak not seen since 2007.
Amidst the challenges, Pochettino lauded goalkeeper Matt Freese following his debut against Turkey. Freese stepped in for Matt turner, who has been the U.S. starter since 2022 but has seen limited playing time with Crystal Palace since March 1.
“He was very, very good,” pochettino said of Freese. “Things that he needs to prove? of course. But he needs to play and needs games with the national team. … He has amazing potential. Yes,it’s a good competition for us,now to discover than he can cope with the pressure to play in front of the national team.”
