The study, published in JMIRx Med, analyzed data from individuals with T1D using OpenAPS, a refined AID system, to identify patterns in insulin needs. Isabella Degen, lead author from Bristol’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, said the findings support the idea that factors beyond carbohydrates significantly impact blood glucose levels.
