Reuters reported that strong Typhoon Yagi hit North Vietnam a few days ago, bringing rain that could start flooding again.
Typhoon No. 4 is expected to make landfall from Quang Tri province to Quang Nam province in the evening, with maximum sustained winds of 102 kilometers per hour, according to the Vietnam Meteorological Administration.
The Vietnam Aviation Administration (CAAV) announced that due to the potential impact of the storm, Dong Hoi Airport, located in the central and northern coastal areas, will be closed from 3 pm to 10 pm today local time.
Typhoon Makar, Asia’s strongest typhoon this year, made landfall in northern Vietnam just two weeks ago, killing over 290 people and causing property damage of up to $1.6 billion in Vietnam.
The Vietnam Meteorological Administration warned that Storm No. 4 will bring 100 to 300 millimeters of rain to central Vietnam today and tomorrow, including the tourist center of Da Nang.
In addition, rainfall will also occur in the central highlands, Vietnam’s main coffee-producing region.
