Reporting from La Tercera indicates that the United States rejects "cualquier intento de derrocar" (any attempt to overthrow) President Rodrigo Paz.
In response to the crisis, the U.S. Has announced the provision of emergency aid. La Tercera further reports that this includes a reinforcement of emergency assistance for Bolivia.
Evo Morales has challenged the position taken by the United States. According to ecoportal.net, Morales questioned the U.S. Communication regarding the situation in Bolivia.
Morales used the communication as a basis to defend the sovereignty of Bolivia’s land and specifically the sovereignty over the country’s lithium resources.
