Dreams of competing in the U.S.Open have been dashed for several prominent golfers after final qualifying
rounds. While some secured their spots,others,including familiar names,will be absent from Oakmont. The
U.S. Open final qualifying saw both triumphs and disappointments.
Max Homa, needing a two-putt birdie to secure his place at Oakmont, three-putted and lost in a playoff.
Rickie Fowler also failed to advance, losing in a playoff for the final qualifying spot. These players are
among those unlikely to compete in the upcoming U.S. Open championship.

players Missing Out on Oakmont
Luke Clanton
Luke Clanton, 21, forfeited his U.S. Open exemption by turning professional at the RBC Canadian Open. Clanton
had earned the exemption by winning the Mark H.McCormack Medal in 2024 as the world’s top amateur.
Rickie Fowler
Rickie Fowler tied for 7th at the Memorial, securing a spot in the Open Championship.Despite a solid season,
Fowler shot 70-69 in columbus but lost in a playoff for a qualifying spot and an alternate position.This
marks his second missed major of the season.
Sergio Garcia
sergio Garcia bogeyed the 36th hole at the Dallas qualifier, missing a playoff spot by one stroke. his streak
