Authorities closed a section of U Street NW, from 12th Street to 14th Street, following reports of a large gathering of young people, fights, and shots fired. T and V streets between 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th streets were also closed to traffic.
According to police, a male juvenile was found in the 1900 block of 13th Street NW, just off U Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be conscious and breathing.
