Washington, D.C., police are investigating a series of violent⁤ incidents that ⁣occurred Saturday evening, including⁤ a shooting in⁤ the‍ U Street corridor and multiple stabbings and another shooting in the Dupont Circle area. the incidents took place as people gathered to celebrate WorldPride DC, prompting increased police ⁣presence and street closures.

Authorities⁢ closed a section of U Street NW, from 12th Street to 14th Street, following reports of a large gathering of young people, fights, and shots fired. T and V streets between‍ 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th streets were also closed to traffic.

According ‍to police, a male juvenile was found in the 1900 block of 13th⁢ Street NW, just off⁢ U⁢ Street, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was ⁤transported to a local hospital and ⁤was⁢ reported to be conscious and breathing.
