U12 Asian Little League/Taiwan to face Japan tomorrow after beating China 16-0 in four games – Hakkanews
The Under-12 Asian Baseball Championship is taking place in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. The Taiwanese team has had a strong start. In their first game on November 27, they played against China and won decisively with a score of 16-0. The match concluded early in the fourth inning due to the score differential.
In previous matches, Taiwan defeated Thailand 24-0 and Hong Kong 11-0. They finished second in their preliminary group after losing to South Korea 0-1, ending with two wins and one loss.
During the game against China, starter Huang Jian made an early impact, enabling the team to suppress the opposing attacks while striking out three players in the fourth inning. The Taiwanese team began with aggressive offense, scoring their first point through walks and a wild pitch. They scored a total of eight points in the first inning alone.
Tomorrow, Taiwan will face Japan in a crucial match that will determine their advancement to the championship game scheduled for November 29.
The Asian Little League Championship has been held annually since 2016, serving as a qualifier for the WBSC U12 World Cup. Taiwan has won this championship seven times and aims for an eighth title.
