UAE and Kazakhstan officials met to expand bilateral consular cooperation, exchange expertise, and review advanced digital government services during high-level talks in Abu Dhabi, according to reporting by Al Ittihad. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Omar Obaid Al Hassan Al Shamsi welcomed Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Arman Issagaliyev at the ministry’s general diwan, alongside Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs Sheikha Hessa bint Sultan Al Nahyan and other officials, Al Ittihad reported.
Bilateral Ties and Prior Consular Committee Outcomes
During the opening discussions, Al Shamsi highlighted the deep bilateral relations between the UAE and Kazakhstan, noting steady development across various sectors driven by the vision of both nations’ leadership, as reported by Al Ittihad. Al Shamsi expressed an eagerness to build upon the outcomes of the fourth session of the UAE-Kazakhstan Joint Consular Committee, which convened in Astana in May 2026, according to Al Ittihad. That committee work aims to enhance the efficiency, flexibility, and future-readiness of consular services. Sheikha Hessa bint Sultan Al Nahyan detailed ongoing UAE initiatives to upgrade consular operations, stressing the necessity of continuous coordination to deliver innovative, proactive services that meet the needs of citizens in both countries, Al Ittihad reported.
Digital Transformation and Smart Mission Integration
Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister praised the rapid advancements in the UAE government sector, highlighting technological adoption, innovation, and efforts to streamline administrative procedures, according to Al Ittihad. Issagaliyev noted that Astana looks to benefit from the Emirati model to advance bilateral consular partnerships. As part of the visit itinerary, the Kazakh delegation inspected the application model of the Smart Mission, which Al Ittihad described as a globally unique project that uses advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to deliver proactive consular solutions and streamline government service experiences. Both sides evaluated the future of consular work amid rapid digital transformation, discussing how artificial intelligence can accelerate transaction completion, boost service efficiency, and provide flexible client responses, Al Ittihad reported. The delegations reaffirmed a mutual commitment to deepening consular ties and exploring new avenues for joint cooperation.
