UAE airlines extend flight suspensions amid regional tensions

Several airlines in the United Arab Emirates have prolonged the suspension of flights to and from various regional destinations, citing escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.
Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi have all announced further schedule adjustments, including the suspension of flights to Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iran.
The flight suspensions, delays, and cancellations are impacting regional transport hubs, with airports and airlines across the Gulf Cooperation Council issuing updates.
emirates stated that all flights to Jordan (Amman) and Lebanon (Beirut) are temporarily suspended until June 22, while flights to Iran (Tehran) and Iraq (Baghdad and Basra) are suspended until june 30. Customers connecting through Dubai with final destinations in Iraq, Iran, Jordan, and Lebanon, and also those with onward flydubai connections to suspended destinations, will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin until further notice, the airline said.
Etihad said it continues to experience disruption to several services due to airspace closures and the ongoing regional situation. Flights between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv remain canceled for June 15 and 16. Flights between Abu Dhabi and Amman, Jordan, and between Abu Dhabi and Beirut, Lebanon, resumed June 15 with a revised schedule for guests with existing bookings only, the airline said.
Flydubai also announced critically importent disruption and ongoing suspensions to UAE flights. Flights to Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria are suspended until June 16; Minsk and St. Petersburg until June 17; and iran, Iraq and Israel until June 20.
