Private sector companies in the United Arab Emirates will observe a paid holiday on Friday, June 27, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The holiday marks the islamic New Year,1447 AH.
The announcement means many in the private sector will enjoy a three-day weekend, stretching from June 27-29. This follows a similar declaration by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), which designated the same date as a holiday for public sector employees.
