The UAE’s athletes have been making a significant impact at the 3rd Asian Youth Games, currently being held in Bahrain. As of the latest updates, the nation has secured a total of 12 medals, showcasing talent across Muay Thai, e-sports, and athletics. More than 5,000 athletes from 45 countries are participating in 19 different sports at this prestigious event.
Medal Winners and Key Performances
Muay Thai
The Muay thai team delivered strong performances, contributing substantially to the UAE’s medal haul. Issam Khalil clinched the gold medal in the 57 kg category, defeating Thailand’s Yengkong Thitivong.aya Al-ashari secured a silver medal in the 48 kg competition,putting up a valiant fight against Thailand’s Tangchiu Niracha. Moreover, Rakan Yousef and Aziz Al Hammadi earned a silver medal in the mixed team Muay Thai event.
E-sports
The UAE’s e-sports team also contributed to the medal count. Sarah Al-Junaibi won a bronze medal in e-football, defeating Thailand’s Thammavong Viengsila wiht a score of 3-2.
Athletics
The national athletics team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork. The quartet of Aisha Muhammad,Arwa Ali,Laila Ahmed,and Azza Nasser won gold in the relay event,finishing with a time of 2:07.79 minutes.
