President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, in Abu Dhabi on May 7, 2026. The meeting focused on bilateral ties and methods to strengthen cooperation to advance mutual interests and deepen integration across multiple fields, according to the state news agency Wam.
The discussions between the two leaders also addressed regional developments and the implications these events have for international and regional security and stability.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of Iranian attacks that targeted civilians and civilian sites within the United Arab Emirates.
The Qatari Prime Minister stressed Qatar’s solidarity with the UAE and expressed support for all measures the UAE takes to uphold its security, its sovereignty, and the safety of its people.
This meeting followed a previous engagement between Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Qatari Foreign Minister.
Following the talks, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman posted a statement on X regarding the relationship between the two nations.
“Our two countries and peoples are bound by strong ties that reflect the aspirations of our leadership and peoples in enhancing shared interests, and developing co-operation and integration across various fields.”
