Uber Expands Danish Market presence with Dantaxi Acquisition
uber has officially acquired Dantaxi,Denmark’s largest taxi company,marking a meaningful expansion of its
ride-hailing services in the country. The acquisition, announced Thursday, will integrate Dantaxi’s operations
into the Uber platform, offering users access to a broader network of drivers.
The deal means Uber users can now access approximately 3,500 taxi drivers in 75 of Denmark’s 98 municipalities.
Dantaxi, previously owned by the investment firm Triton as 2018, will continue to operate under its own
name, but its drivers will also be available through the Uber app.
Carsten Aastrup, CEO of Dantaxi, stated the partnership with Uber opens a new chapter for the Danish company.
Uber had previously re-entered the Danish market after a seven-year absence,initially through an agreement
with Drivr,which allowed it to operate in Copenhagen.
the arrangement with Dantaxi mirrors the Drivr partnership, but with Uber now owning the Danish company. This
acquisition allows Uber to extend its reach beyond Copenhagen and offer its services nationwide. Uber’s
expansion aims to provide complete ride-hailing options throughout Denmark.
Uber’s statement confirmed that fares will adhere to Danish taxi regulations and be displayed within the app
before a ride is booked. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
