Tarragona, Spain – UCAM Cartagena TM secured their 18th Queen’s Cup title on Tuesday, February 21, 2026, after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Miró Ganxets Costa Daurada at the Palau d’Esports Catalunya. The win solidifies UCAM Cartagena’s position as the most decorated team in Spanish table tennis history.

The final was a back-and-forth affair, showcasing the competitive balance between the two teams. Li Fen opened the match with a crucial win against Guo Ruichen, taking the first game 3-1 (13-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-6) and giving Cartagena an early lead. Qi Fei then extended that lead, defeating Anastasiia Kolish 3-1 (9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-2).

However, Miró Ganxets Costa Daurada responded strongly, with Natalya Prosvirnina securing a vital victory over Ángela Rodríguez. Prosvirnina won 3-1 (11-13, 11-13, 11-8, 5-11), narrowing the gap and injecting momentum into her team. The match was then leveled at 2-2 when Guo Ruichen overcame Qi Fei in a hard-fought contest, winning 3-2 (11-5, 14-12, 7-11, 10-12, 9-11).

The decisive match fell to Li Fen, who once again proved to be the difference-maker for UCAM Cartagena. She delivered a commanding performance against Anastasiia Kolish, winning 3-0 (13-11, 11-9, 11-8) and sealing the championship for her team. Li Fen’s two victories were pivotal in securing the title.

UCAM Cartagena’s path to the final included a dominant 3-0 semifinal win against Girbau Vic TT. Miró Ganxets Costa Daurada also secured their spot in the final with a 3-1 victory over UBU RM Terán Burgos 2031. Girbau Vic TT and UBU RM Terán Burgos 2031 finished joint third in this edition of the Iberdrola Queen’s Cup.

This victory comes on the heels of a historic qualification for UCAM Cartagena Table Tennis into the Final Four of the ETTU Champions League Women, achieved just days prior on February 19, 2026. They overcame TT Saint-Quentin in a packed arena, staging a comeback after a first-leg defeat. Led by Olympian María Xiao, the team will now face French side Metz TT in Poland on May 23 and 24.

The team’s success is a testament to the dedication of players like María Xiao, Li Fen, Qi Fei, Ángela Rodríguez, and Ye Lin, as well as the coaching staff led by Jesús Cantero. The club has consistently demonstrated its ability to compete at the highest levels of European table tennis, and this Queen’s Cup triumph further cements its legacy within the sport.

The Iberdrola Queen’s Cup is a prestigious domestic competition, and UCAM Cartagena’s 18th title underscores their sustained dominance. The team’s ability to perform under pressure, as evidenced by their comeback in the final, highlights their mental fortitude and championship pedigree. The win is expected to further energize the team as they prepare for the challenges ahead in the Champions League.

The atmosphere at the Palau d’Esports Catalunya was electric throughout the tournament, with passionate fans supporting both teams. The final match, in particular, was a captivating display of skill, strategy, and determination. UCAM Cartagena’s victory is not only a triumph for the club but also a source of pride for the city of Cartagena and the wider Spanish table tennis community.
