A former president of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, informed the Supreme Court ten days prior to April 17, 2026, that she had no memory or record of 65 messages exchanged with Koldo García, the former advisor to José Luis Ábalos, according to a report by El Mundo.

The disclosure comes amid an ongoing corruption investigation known as the Koldo Case, which centers on alleged illegal kickbacks tied to public contracts during the COVID-19 pandemic and involves senior figures in the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE), including former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos and current PSOE Organization Secretary Santos Cerdán.
