The British High Commissioner has moved to clarify new rules for New Zealand dual nationals travelling to Britain.
Earlier this month, it was reported anyone classed as a British citizen would need a UK passport to fly there from February 25 under the new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system.
The requirement stands nonetheless of other passports those with dual citizenship possess.
Today, British High Commissioner to New Zealand Iona Thomas acknowledged the upcoming change had been “met with questions” from travellers.

As a result, she confirmed: “If you have held or currently hold a British citizenship, including if you are a dual national, you cannot use an ETA to enter the UK from February 25.
“You must travel on a British passport, or another passport with a certificate of entitlement,” she saeid.
