Lizzie Deignan Headlines Tour of Britain Women

British cycling icon Lizzie Deignan is set to headline the 2025 Lloyds Tour of Britain Women,facing off against top international talent in a four-stage race across England and Scotland from June 5-8.This year marks the largest edition of the revived Tour of Britain Women, wiht 19 teams competing.
Deignan,36,a two-time GC champion,described the event as a “bittersweet final Tour of Britain” as she approaches retirement. “I have such special memories from this race,” Deignan said. “This will be my final Tour of Britain, so it will be bittersweet, but I am going to be surrounded by some amazing women.”
The international challenge is spearheaded by Lorena wiebes (SD Worx-Protime),the European champion and renowned sprinter. Kristen Faulkner, a double Olympic gold medalist, along with riders from canyon-SRAM, Movistar, and FDJ-SUEZ, add further competition to the race, which returns after its 2023 cancellation. Americans Skylar Schneider (SD Worx-Protime) and Megan Jastrab (Canyon-SRAM) are also competing.

Other notable UK cyclists include Elisa Balsamo and Olympic silver medalist Anna Henderson, both teammates of Deignan at Lidl-Trek. rising stars such as Cat Ferguson (Movistar), Imogen Wolff (Visma-Lease a Bike), and the Backstedt sisters, Elynor (UAE Team ADQ) and Zoe (Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto), are also ones to watch in the Tour of Britain women.
Five national champions are on the preliminary start list.Though, several top riders, including Demi Vollering, Marlen Reusser, Lotte Kopecky, marianne Vos, and Kasia Niewiadoma, will not be participating.
Building on the success of its return last year under British Cycling, the race route extends from YorkshireS moors to Glasgow’s fast finale.
