Lexington, KY – The Kentucky Wildcats volleyball team wasted no time asserting their dominance in the NCAA Tournament, sweeping the Cleveland State Vikings in straight sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-15) on Thursday night.
The Wildcats, seeded No. 10 in the tournament, controlled the match from start to finish, showcasing their powerful offense and stifling defense. Senior outside hitter Reagan Rutherford led the charge with 14 kills, while sophomore setter Emma Grome delivered 35 assists.”I thought we came out really focused and executed our game plan well,” said Kentucky head coach Craig Skinner. “Cleveland state is a good team, but we were able to put pressure on them from the service line and at the net.”
