Ukrainian President Volodymyr ⁢Zelenskyy lauded ⁣the mission as‍ “brilliant,” noting ​its planning​ spanned 18⁣ months. He also⁢ claimed the operation’s “office” was located near an ⁢FSB⁤ headquarters ‌within Russia.

Russia’s defense ministry confirmed the strikes, stating​ that five airbases were targeted but that the attacks were “successfully repelled.” However, ‌ukraine claims ample ‌damage ⁣was inflicted, including the destruction of 34% ‌of Russia’s strategic ⁤bombers, estimating⁣ losses at $7 billion.
