Ukraine Halts Oil Flow Through Druzhba Pipeline to Hungary & Slovakia

Ukraine Halts Oil Flow Through Druzhba Pipeline to Hungary & Slovakia

August 22, 2025 Ahmed Hassan - World News Editor World

Ukraine struck the Russian oil pumping station “UNAKA” on August 22, 2025. This attack, carried out with a Ukrainian drone, is the second this month to disrupt crude ⁤oil supply ⁣via the Druzhba pipeline,⁣ leaving Hungary and Slovakia without Russian oil. While deliveries were⁤ briefly resumed after a previous attack earlier in the week, supplies to Hungary have now stopped, according to⁢ Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto, and supplies to Slovakia were also interrupted. The German Economy⁢ ministry stated the disruption does not effect Germany’s security ⁤of supply. ⁤Ukraine has increased attacks on Russia’s energy ⁢infrastructure, a sector contributing a ‍quarter of Russia’s total ⁢budget revenue.
