Ukraine Halts Oil Flow Through Druzhba Pipeline to Hungary & Slovakia
Ukraine struck the Russian oil pumping station “UNAKA” on August 22, 2025. This attack, carried out with a Ukrainian drone, is the second this month to disrupt crude oil supply via the Druzhba pipeline, leaving Hungary and Slovakia without Russian oil. While deliveries were briefly resumed after a previous attack earlier in the week, supplies to Hungary have now stopped, according to Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siarto, and supplies to Slovakia were also interrupted. The German Economy ministry stated the disruption does not effect Germany’s security of supply. Ukraine has increased attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure, a sector contributing a quarter of Russia’s total budget revenue.
