Russian⁣ Attacks Leave⁢ kyiv Without power, Claim Lives

Russian forces launched hundreds of drones and missiles ⁣at ⁣Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities on ‌January 11, 2026,⁢ including missiles capable of carrying‍ nuclear warheads, ⁢according to multiple news reports.The attacks⁢ left thousands of Kyiv residents without heat during frigid ‍weather and resulted in‍ civilian casualties.

At least four people ⁤died​ in Kyiv,and approximately 25 others sustained injuries. Thousands of apartment buildings lost heating, according to reports.

The victims included a medic who was providing ‍aid⁤ as part of ⁢an​ emergency services team, ​the ⁤UN World health Association (WHO) ⁣stated in a tweet. Four healthcare workers ⁤were injured, and three ambulances were damaged.

Guterres Condemns Attacks

UN Secretary-General António Guterres strongly condemned the attacks in a statement released by⁢ his ‍Spokesperson. “These attacks have resulted⁤ in civilian casualties and‌ deprived millions of Ukrainians ‌of essential services, including electricity, heating‌ and ​water at a time ⁢of acute humanitarian ​need,” ⁢ the‍ statement ⁣added.

“Attacks against civilians and civilian ​infrastructure violate ⁣international humanitarian⁤ law. No⁣ matter where they occur, they are unacceptable, unjustifiable, and must stop immediately.”

Millions⁤ Face Cold Without Heat

UNICEF ⁤reported⁤ on social media that the⁣ attacks are⁢ exacerbating⁤ the humanitarian crisis for children and families in ukraine. A post detailed the​ impact on vulnerable populations.
