Ukraine Russia Ship Incident: Polish Border Guard Intervenes
Russia wants to escalate war and divide Europethe Ukrainian President Zelenskyj said at the beginning of the Copenhagen Summit.
He responded, among other things, to the recent disturbances of the European airspace that are attributed to Russia.
According to Zelepa, Europe must do the opposite of Moscow, ie acting together and deciding. Russia is not only a threat to Ukraine, but for all of us, stressed Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who organizes the meeting.
“Russia continues its brutal attacks on Ukraine and it must be clear to everyone that it will not stop until it is forced to do so,” Frederiksen said in the opening statement in front of European leaders. According to her, Europe must be strong to show that “war against us is unthinkable”.
Danish Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine is also fighting for European security and defending all Europeans, and therefore deserves persistent support. “For some, the Russian threat is very clear, very present, for some it is still far away, but no one must be naive. This war is not about Ukraine, it is about Europe, our values and freedoms,” said Frederiksen, who is sitting next to Zelenky at the Copenhagen Table.
“What we do in Ukraine is not a charity, it is a direct defense of our continent,” she added, adding that it is necessary to strengthen Ukraine while putting more pressure on Russia.
According to Frederiksen, Russian hybrid threats are increasingly intense. “Once they are military drones, sometimes migrants at the border, attacks on critical infrastructure, sowing misinformation or efforts to influence democratic elections,” said the head of the Danish government.
However, politicians should also help their citizens to ensure economic security, such as jobs or available housing, and help them in everyday difficulties. “We also have to build a more economically stronger Europe,” she added. She described the fight against illegal migration as another important topic. (CTK)
