Russian Army Takes Control of Village in Donetsk
The Russian army has taken control of the village of Zavetno in Donetsk, marking the sixth settlement captured in the area since the beginning of the month, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian troops took control of the village of Zavetno in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) as a result of the active actions of units of the “Center” troop group.
The village of Zavetno, located on the Pokrovska road, is a settlement nine kilometers south-west of the village of Progres. This recent capture adds to the list of settlements taken by the Russian army in the Donetsk territory, including the villages of Ptiče, Vjemka, Skučno, Karlovka, and Prečistovka.
In addition to the capture of Zavetno, Russian troops have also defeated seven brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Dzerzhinsk, Krasnoarmeysk, Shcherbinovka, Grodovka, Zhuravka, Mihailovka, Selidov, and Memrik. Furthermore, they have repelled eight counterattacks by aircraft.
