Kyiv, Ukraine – As the war in Ukraine enters its third year, Ukrainian officials remain resolute in their stance: peace negotiations wiht Russia will only commence when Moscow no longer has the capacity to wage war.
Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, reiterated this position during a recent address to a municipal congress. “Negotiations for a lasting peace will begin only when the enemy no longer has the resources to continue the war,” Yermak declared.
He emphasized that Kyiv sees “peace through strength” as the only viable path forward, a principle that has guided the progress of Ukraine’s “victory plan.”
