[정필=양건영 보건전문기자 kspa@jeongpil.com] Ulju County Health Center announced on the 29th that it will implement a ‘Pre-Pregnancy Health Management Support Project’ to support the cost of essential fertility tests for couples (including common-law couples and couples-to-be) wishing to become pregnant in order to create a healthy pregnancy and childbirth environment.

Each couple can apply for essential fertility tests and support costs. Women can receive up to 130,000 won for ovarian function tests (AMH) and gynecological ultrasound (ovaries, uterus, etc.).

Men will be supported with a one-time cost of semen analysis (precise sperm morphology analysis) up to a limit of 50,000 won.

Those who wish to be tested can apply by visiting a public health center or applying online at the e-Health Center.

After applying, you will receive a test request form and undergo a test at a designated medical institution nationwide. Then, within 3 months, submit the required documents (test fee bill, medical fee receipt and detailed statement, bankbook copy) and pay the test fee.

Since the examination must be conducted within 3 months from the date of issuance of the examination request form, you must contact the participating medical institution in advance to confirm the examination schedule when applying.

Participating medical institutions can be checked on the e-Health Center website.

An official from Ulju County Health Center said, “This is a good opportunity to discover health risk factors before pregnancy, so we hope that many couples hoping to get pregnant will show interest and participate,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to create a healthy pregnancy and childbirth environment.”
