Ulsan Students to Participate in ’Sharing Umph Theater’ Art Experience Program
(Ulsan = Yonhap News) Reporter Yongtae Kim = The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education announced that 2,377 elementary, middle, and high school students will be participating in the ‘Sharing Umph Theater’ art experience program jointly planned with the Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival.
This program will be held at the Yeongnam Alps Complex Welcome Center in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun and the Ulsan Grand Park in Nam-gu on the 27th and 30th, respectively, during the 9th Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival.
UMFF is an abbreviation for Ulju Mountain Film Festival.
The Ump Theater, which we share together, is a program that provides film classes by compiling excellent films selected by youth judges by grade level and topic, and has been in operation since 2021.
Beyond simply watching movies, a variety of experiential activities are provided so that students can directly experience movies and art in nature and broaden their interests in the field of culture and arts.
The city’s Board of Education provides free transportation to schools participating in movie viewing and art experiences.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education also ran this program in the first half of the year, with approximately 1,450 Ulsan students participating.
An official from the city’s Board of Education said, “We will continue to develop various art experience programs in the future so that many students can participate.”
The 9th Ulsan Ulju World Mountain Film Festival will be held from the 27th to October 1st at the Yeongnam Alps Complex Welcome Center and Ulsan Grand Park, screening 97 films from 28 countries.
