Ultra-HD Vision Takes Shape: New Alliance Formed in Nanjing
On November 8, the first meeting of the World Ultra-HD Video Industry Alliance (UWA Alliance) Ultra-HD Display Working Group and the founding meeting of the working group were held in Nanjing. Representatives from China Central Radio and Television, Shicheng Laboratory, SID China, and Film Science Research Institute, along with over 80 individuals from the Fourth Institute of Electronics and other units, attended this significant gathering.
Jiang Wenbo, chairman of the World Ultra-HD Video Industry Alliance and member of the editorial board of China Central Radio and Television, delivered a speech emphasizing China Central Radio and Television’s commitment to promoting ultra-high definition technology. He highlighted their use of the National Key Laboratory of Ultra-HD Video and Audio Production and Broadcasting as a platform for research breakthroughs in ultra-high-definition full media communication.
Jiang Wenbo pointed out that initiatives like launching 4K/8K ultra-high-definition TV channels, the “Hundred Cities Thousand Screens” 8K ultra-high-definition communication platform, and the “CCTV” ultra-high-definition large- and small-screen integrated communication platform will propel China’s advancement in the ultra-high-definition TV field. He stressed the importance of the ultra-high-definition display working group’s role in strengthening technological innovation and research and development, fostering collaborative research on core technologies, and promoting continuous upgrades and optimizations in ultra-high-definition display technology.
The meeting also included an awarding ceremony for the ultra-high-definition display working group. The World Ultra-HD Video Industry Alliance signed a contract with Shicheng Laboratory, establishing the new display and visual perception Shicheng Laboratory as the working group’s first joint science and innovation base. An unveiling ceremony was held to mark this occasion. Experts and scholars from industry units presented special reports and engaged in lively discussions.
The establishment of the World Ultra-HD Video Industry Alliance Ultra-HD Display Working Group is poised to accelerate information sharing and technology exchanges within the new display industry. It will foster breakthroughs and applications of key core technologies, effectively integrate upstream and downstream industry resources, and drive innovation within the industry chain. This initiative holds significant importance for enhancing China’s global influence and industrial competitiveness in the ultra-high-definition display field.
