LAS VEGAS – Umar Dzambekov delivered a stunning knockout victory over Ahmed Elbiali at Zuffa Boxing 03 on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. The Austrian light-heavyweight secured the win with a perfectly timed right-handed uppercut in the second round, a finish many are already calling a contender for Knockout of the Year.

The bout marked Dzambekov’s debut with Zuffa Boxing, the new promotion spearheaded by Dana White. Entering the fight with a 13-0 professional record, the 28-year-old faced a significant step up in competition against the experienced Elbiali, who hadn’t suffered a defeat in eight years.

From the opening bell, Dzambekov demonstrated a clear game plan, boxing with purpose and landing punches effectively from a southpaw stance. He appeared to be setting traps, patiently waiting for an opening to unleash a fight-ending blow. That opportunity arrived 57 seconds into the second round.

As Elbiali lunged forward, Dzambekov capitalized on the opening, delivering a devastating uppercut that connected cleanly. The impact sent Elbiali crashing to the canvas, visibly concussed. Immediately after hitting the canvas, Elbiali’s left leg began to twitch uncontrollably as he struggled to regain consciousness.

The referee quickly intervened, waving off the contest as it became clear Elbiali was unable to continue. The victory improves Dzambekov’s record to 14-0, with 10 knockouts.

The finish has quickly circulated throughout the boxing world, drawing widespread praise. Reactions on social media have been overwhelmingly positive, with many labeling it as an instant classic. One observer described it as “KO of the Year material,” while another called it “one of the best KOs in boxing history.”

Following the fight, Dzambekov expressed his satisfaction with the outcome. “I work on the shots, and when I see a chance I go for it,” he said. He specifically highlighted the uppercut as a technique he had been diligently practicing with his coach, and was pleased to see it land with such precision.

The win is a significant boost for Dzambekov’s career, particularly given the exposure provided by the Zuffa Boxing platform. Elbiali, 24-2, had been on a strong run, having not lost since 2017, making this a notable victory on Dzambekov’s resume.

Dana White was clearly impressed with Dzambekov’s performance, awarding him the Performance of the Night bonus. This recognition underscores the impact of the knockout and the potential White sees in the young fighter.

Looking ahead, Dzambekov’s next opponent could be Radivoje “Hot Rod” Kalajdzic, who recently knocked out former light-heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk on a previous Zuffa Boxing card. A matchup between the two would pit two of the promotion’s most exciting light-heavyweight prospects against each other.

Dzambekov’s previous fight before this victory was in June against Roamer Alexis Angulo, a bout he didn’t dominate. He followed that with a second-round knockout in October, demonstrating his ability to bounce back and refine his skills. This latest performance at Zuffa Boxing 03, however, showcased his full potential and established him as a force to be reckoned with in the light-heavyweight division.

The card also featured a victory for Efe Ajagba, who flattened Charles Martin. However, it was Dzambekov’s explosive finish that stole the show and left a lasting impression on boxing fans.
