The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is hosting a special exhibition titled For the Future: Collecting at the UMFA 2001–2026. The institution is located inside the Marcia & John Price Museum Building at 410 Campus Center Dr., Salt Lake City, according to event notices. The exhibition highlights creative works acquired over a 25-year period.
American art forms featured in the collection span a diverse spectrum of cultural expression. The gallery displays Indigenous practices dating back thousands of years alongside traditional European-origin painting and sculpting traditions. Modern and contemporary pieces engaged on the global stage are also part of the showcase.
Museum Staff Led Exhibition Tours
Visitors can experience the artworks through the unique perspectives of staff members who work with the collection every day. The lunch-hour tours provide a midday break where attendees can also stop by the Museum Café for a bite to eat. The 45-minute excursions offer a look into the pieces, their histories, and how the institution stewards them.
Leadership for the tours rotates among museum experts. A tour will be led by Stacey Kelly, director of collections and conservator at the UMFA. Alisa McCusker, senior curator and curator of European and American art, also leads tours highlighting noteworthy acquisitions that deepen the museum representation of American history and culture.
