A 49-year-old man in Thabong, Free State, has been arrested adn charged with murder following the death of his 22-year-old nephew. According to police reports, the incident occurred when the uncle allegedly mistook his nephew for an intruder in the kitchen of his home and discharged a firearm.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Palesa Thabana stated that officers responded to a scene where they were directed to the body of a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital by his family but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
