Remembering the⁤ 9/11 Attacks

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks, a day when terrorists hijacked American airliners and ‌crashed them into the‌ twin ‍towers of the ⁢World Trade Center in New York.

The ‍mastermind behind the attacks was Osama‌ bin Laden, the leader ‍of al-Qaeda, who‍ was later killed by American forces in Pakistan.

Interestingly, Osama bin Laden had a fascination with football, particularly with the English club ⁢Arsenal. According to ⁤author Adam Robinson’s biography, “Bin Laden: Behind the⁤ Mask of Terrorism”, bin Laden attended Arsenal matches in 1990 and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in the 1993–1994 season. He was a great admirer of Arsenal legend ⁤George ⁤Graham.

Following the revelation of⁢ bin Laden’s allegiance to Arsenal, a ⁤club spokesman stated,⁢ “We have seen the reports in the ⁣press and it is clear that he will not ‍be welcome at Highbury in the future.”
