Yesan County Conducts Joint Hygiene Inspection for School Meal Suppliers
In preparation for the new semester, Yesan County conducted a joint hygiene inspection targeting school meal ingredient suppliers from the 3rd to the 6th. This joint inspection was conducted by an inspection team formed by the military school meal team, hygiene team, and the Yesan Education Support Office.
The main objective of this inspection was to raise awareness among food ingredient suppliers through hygiene management and inspections and to provide safe and high-quality food ingredients to students. The inspection team checked various aspects, including:
- Cleanliness of the workplace
- Personal hygiene management, such as wearing work hats and work shoes
- Compliance with hygienic handling standards for food
- Appropriateness of freezing and refrigeration storage
- Storage and use of products past their expiration date
- Cleanliness and temperature maintenance of food transport vehicles
The military is supporting school meal food costs for 8,605 students in 93 schools, including kindergartens and elementary, middle, and high schools in the region, through the Public Meal Support Center. The military is striving to provide a stable supply of good local food.
To ensure the safety of school lunch ingredients, the military is also conducting regular safety tests, including tests for residual pesticides and heavy metals.
Military officials stated, “We will do our best to ensure that healthy and safe ingredients are supplied to school lunches in the second semester as well.”
