UNE Offers Online Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition
UNE Launches Online Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition, Filling a national Gap
BIDDEFORD, Maine – The University of New England (UNE) is breaking new ground in the field of nutrition, becoming one of only a handful of universities nationwide to offer a fully online Doctorate in Clinical nutrition. this innovative program is specifically designed for registered dieticians seeking to advance their careers and expertise.
the rigorous curriculum, encompassing 48 credits, can be completed in as little as three years for full-time students. However, UNE recognizes the demands on working professionals and anticipates that many students will opt for a more flexible pace.
“Rather than taking the standard two courses over a semester, they’re opting to take one course a semester so they can still tend to their family, their jobs and all of that,” explains Ellie Dodge, director of Graduate Program and Applied Nutrition at UNE. “So with that, we look at about five to six years for completion. We’re expecting most of our graduates to complete in five years.”
this unique program fills a critical gap in the educational landscape, providing registered dieticians with the advanced training needed to meet the evolving needs of patients and the healthcare system. With only about eight similar programs available across the country, UNE’s offering is poised to attract students from across the nation.
The submission deadline for the spring term is December 16.
