Historical records indicate that Binh Dinh’s traditional martial arts have deep roots. The art form began to take shape in 1471, during the reign of King Le Thanh Tong, when Vietnamese people settled in Hoi-Yeon County (now Binh Dinh province).

Currently, Binh Dinh boasts a thriving martial arts community, including two international Grandmasters, 26 national Grandmasters, 12 luxury Grandmasters, 73 masters, 57 masters, and 415 coaches. There are 177 martial arts schools and clubs, with more then 12,000 students participating in regular training.
