Medellín Public Improvement Association Celebrates 125 Years with National Story Contest
The Medellín Public Improvement Association is commemorating its 125 years of history with a national story contest called “Let’s Narrate the City.” This initiative invites people of all ages to explore Medellín’s past, present, future, and rural nature through their stories.
The call will be open until December 13 this year, and all citizens of different ages can participate. Categories range from children to seniors. The goal of “Narremos la Ciudad” is to promote literary creativity and strengthen the sense of belonging to Medellín.
Categories and Awards
- Children: 7 to 13 years
- Youth: 14 to 22 years
- Adults: 23 to 59 years
- Older Adult: 60 years and over
The three finalists in each category will be recognized with vouchers that can be used in a bookstore in the country, while those who take first place will take home a laptop. Likewise, the best stories in each category will be published in a digital and physical book, leaving a literary legacy for the city.
Special Programming
In addition to the competition, “Narremos la Ciudad” includes talks and workshops, designed to enrich the creative process of the participants and encourage dialogue about the city.
