Today marks the 93rd ‍anniversary of the ‌September 18th Incident, with commemorative activities taking place across the country. In ⁣Hong Kong, schools have been holding flag-raising ceremonies and teaching students about the historical⁣ facts of the “September 18th Incident”.

Anglican Bishop Ho Ming-wah Secondary School Commemorates ⁣the Anniversary

The⁣ Anglican Bishop Ho Ming-wah Secondary School recently⁢ held a flag-raising⁣ ceremony to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of ‍the​ September 18th Incident. The school’s director of Chinese History, Liang Yanjing, explained that official textbooks may not be suitable for all schools, and the school hopes to combine private resources to‌ complement ‌each other. This approach ⁣allows students to use more diversified materials to enrich their understanding of the War of Resistance.

On the same day, the‍ school also held an after-school extension activity on the “September 18th Incident” for the⁢ Department⁤ of Citizenship and ​Social Development. The‍ activity‌ included setting ‍up⁢ exhibition boards and⁤ broadcasting the memorial ceremony of the Shenyang 918 History Museum. Students who​ participated in‍ the⁢ activity gained⁤ a profound understanding of the incident and‌ its ‍significance.

Principal Jin Weiming hopes that students can learn⁤ from the past and understand‍ the scourge ⁢of war. He also revealed that an exchange group in Shenyang will be held next semester, and ​students will ⁤have the opportunity to ⁤visit the local​ September 18th History Museum.

Group Holds Rally Outside Japanese Consulate General⁢ in Hong Kong

A group of representatives from the Diaoyu Islands Action Committee protested outside‍ the Exchange Square ‍where the Consulate General of Japan⁣ is located in Hong Kong. They held banners with ⁢the slogan “Don’t forget September 18th”, shouted slogans, and read out the contents of the protest letter​ at the scene.

During the rally, representatives taped ⁣letters to the glass walls of Exchange⁤ Square ⁢and tore up paper ⁤symbolizing Japan’s militaristic flag. Police officers were present to maintain‍ order during the event.
