Uniting Faith and Leadership: The Islamic League of Faso’s Maoloud Celebration Empowers Imams
Islamic League of Faso Organizes Public Conference for Imams in Bobo-Dioulasso
The Islamic League of Faso (LIFA) hosted a public conference for imams in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso on Monday, September 16, 2024. The event’s opening ceremony took place at the Bobo-Dioulasso Chamber of Commerce.
Conference Theme: “The Contribution of LIFA Imams to Peace in Faso by Celebrating Maooud”
This conference serves as a platform for LIFA to remind its imams of their crucial role in society, particularly in the context of terrorism and social crises. According to Hamad Sanogo, president of LIFA, “We are in a challenging context, and it is essential to remind imams of their roles in times of crisis, how to reinforce peace, foster dialogue, and unity, which are the recommendations of Islam.”
Sanogo emphasized the importance of imams playing their part in promoting peace and stability in the country. “No one doubts that the country needs the efforts of all its sons and daughters. Everyone must contribute, not just those in power. Through this conference, we will equip imams with the knowledge of why and how they must fulfill their roles effectively.”
The conference also provided an opportunity for LIFA to present its leaders with the steps it has taken and its views on promoting peace and stability in the region. Furthermore, it served as a call to those who have taken up arms against Burkina Faso to lay down their arms, as their fight is already destined to fail.
