George Kallingal,MD,has been appointed to lead clinical strategy and oversight for heart and vascular care across UnityPoint Health‘s Midwest network,effective immediately. He will collaborate closely with Sharese Van Sloten, vice president of operations for cardiovascular services, to enhance patient care and service delivery. This proclamation was made by UnityPoint Health on December 13, 2023.
Experience and Background
Dr. Kallingal brings extensive experience to his new role, currently serving as system vice president of acute care services for OhioHealth. Prior to this, he held leadership positions within OhioHealth’s heart and vascular service line. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease,specializing in outpatient general,preventive,and noninvasive cardiology.

Dr. Kallingal’s expertise encompasses a broad range of cardiovascular care, focusing on preventative measures and non-invasive diagnostic techniques.
