BROOKINGS, S.D. – The no. 7 Minnesota Golden Gophers wrestling team delivered a dominant performance Sunday, crushing the No. 17 South Dakota State Jackrabbits 30-3 at First Bank & Trust Arena.
The gophers (4-0) won nine of the 10 matches, including six ranked bouts, leaving no doubt about their superiority. The victory extended Minnesota’s winning streak to 10 duals, dating back to last season.
“We came out strong adn wrestled with a lot of intensity today,” said head coach Brandon Eggum. “It was a great team effort, and I’m proud of how our guys competed.”
Minnesota’s dominance was evident from the start. No. 14 Cooper Flynn set the tone with a 7-2 upset over No. 4 Tanner jordan at 125 pounds. Flynn secured two takedowns in the opening period, building a lead he wouldn’t relinquish.

Minneapolis, MN – The No. 11 University of Minnesota Golden Gophers wrestling team continued their dominant start to the season, cruising to a 27-3 victory over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Sunday afternoon at maturi Pavilion.
The Gophers (5-0) secured bonus points in four of the ten matches, showcasing their depth and firepower across weight classes.
The dual began with a bang as No. 14 Vance VomBaur topped Julian Tagg, 8-3, at 125 pounds.VomBaur, now 8-0 on the season, fended off a late charge from Tagg in the second period before securing a decisive takedown in the third.
No. 21 Drew Roberts needed overtime to defeat Colin Dupill at 149 pounds. After both wrestlers escaped in regulation, Roberts scrambled for the winning takedown, improving his record to 4-0.

Berge held a 5-3 lead entering the final period, but McEnelly fought back to tie the score at 6-6, forcing overtime. After a scoreless first overtime period, McEnelly rode out Berge in the second and secured a late takedown in the third to clinch a 9-6 victory. the win kept McEnelly undefeated at 7-0 this season and 22-0 in his collegiate career.The Gophers will look to continue their winning ways next weekend when they travel to face the No. 15 Nebraska Cornhuskers.
