Apple Mac hardware release week is not over yet! Following the release of the new iMac and Mac mini earlier this week, Apple has released a new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. This new laptop is powered by the most powerful M4 chip ever and can be upgraded to an M4 Max processor. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, starting at NT$54,900 and NT$84,900 respectively, are currently open for pre-order and will be officially released on November 8.

The MacBook Pro retains the same Mini-LED screen, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1080p camera and 6-speaker sound system as the previous generation. One of the new features is support for “Center Stage” with a 12-megapixel camera that automatically places your face in the center of the screen during video calls. This feature, previously only available on the iPad and Apple Studio Display, is now available on the MacBook Pro and the latest iMac as well.

As for the Studio Display, Apple has specifically upgraded it with nano-textured glass to significantly reduce glare and reflection issues. The MacBook Pro now comes with three Thunderbolt 4-capable USB-C ports (one more than the M3 version), an HDMI port, an SD card slot, a high-impedance headphone jack, and a MagSafe charging port. If you choose the M4 Pro and M4 Max chip versions, they will be equipped with 3 USB-C Thunderbolt 5 ports, which can achieve faster data transfer speeds.
If your requirements for chip performance aren’t high, you can opt for the 14-inch MacBook Pro with an entry-level M4 chip and 16GB of unified memory space. However, it is worth noting that the 16-inch MacBook Pro can only be equipped with the M4 Pro or M4 Max chip versions.
