Lady Gaga Unveils Music Video for “Disease” and Teases Seventh Album “LG7”

Lady Gaga has released the music video for “Disease,” the first single from her seventh new album, which she teases as “LG7.” Directed by Tanu Muino, the music video is set in a quiet suburban neighborhood and sees Gaga confronting different versions of herself and trying to control her deepest, personified fears.

Lady Gaga spoke about the new song on her social media, sharing her thoughts on her relationship with her own inner demons. “I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship with my own inner demons. It’s never been easy to deal with my tendency to be tempted by chaos and confusion.”

“Disease” is a song about facing that fear, facing yourself and your inner darkness, and realizing that sometimes you can’t escape or win from your fear. Even if I try to run away from fear, it’s still a part of me, and no matter how much I run or run away, I end up meeting a part of myself again, even if it’s just for a moment.

Dance, transform, run, purify. Return to yourself again and again. This integration is ultimately beautiful to me. Because they are my own and I have learned how to handle them. The upcoming album, commonly known as “LG7,” is the follow-up to her sixth album Chromatica, which was released in 2020, and marks Lady Gaga’s long-awaited return to pop albums. Regarding her new album, Gaga said: “Michael encouraged me to make a new pop album and said, ‘You should make pop music that allows you to explore your joy.'” He has said that the words of Michael Polanski, who was a great composer, were a major impetus for him to create a pop album.
