Unleash the Wanderer: Mutt Motorcycles Unveils the Thrilling Stravaig 401 Adventure Bike
Mutt Motorcycles Enters Adventure Bike Segment with Stravaig 401
Mutt Motorcycles, known for its low-displacement retro naked bikes, is branching out into the adventure bike segment with the new Stravaig 401. It is powered by a parallel twin-cylinder engine with 36.2 horsepower and is priced at 5,800 euros excluding additional costs.
Scheduled to hit the market in September 2024, the bike will be available in matte green or matte black. It is positioned in the growing segment of adventure bikes accessible with an A2 license, competing against established competitors such as the KTM 390 Adventure and Honda CRF300 Rally, as well as Chinese-made alternatives such as the CFMoto 450MT.
The Stravaig is the Birmingham brand’s largest bike to date, powered by a 401cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with eight valves and double camshafts. Maximum power is achieved at 8,500rpm, with 32Nm of torque available at 6,500rpm.
This bike marks a change of direction for the company, which was founded in 2013 and is primarily known for making affordable retro bikes with air-cooled engines. These are inspired by the old Suzuki GN125 engine.
Stravaig is not completely new to the market, previously existing as Sinnis Terrain 380. It was first launched in the UK in 2020, manufactured by Zongshen in China and sold under the Sinnis brand. After this model was discontinued, Mutt took the opportunity to launch a version that incorporated the brand’s signature style elements.
With its wide shoulders, three removable luggage compartments, adjustable high windshield and pointed front design, the Stravaig resembles the Triumph Tiger 900 family. Additionally, it features USB and 12V charging ports, a color digital instrument panel, and tire pressure monitoring.
The 810mm seat height is accessible for new riders. However, its 215kg curb weight is considerable, making it 62kg heavier than a comparable Honda.
This bike is equipped with tubeless tires measuring 19 inches in the front and 17 inches in the rear. The brake system includes two front discs with 4-piston calipers and one rear disc with a 1-piston caliper.
