Owain Glyndŵr Day: Celebrating Wales’ National Hero
Shumai! Hello!
Happy Owain Glyndŵr Day
Owain Glyndŵr rose up to restore independence and pride to Wales, which had been conquered by King Edward I of England.

On 16 September 1400, he was proclaimed Prince of Wales by his supporters.
And then they attacked the territories that had been taken by the English army one after another.
They also captured Aberystwyth and Harlech castles, both built by Edward I.
Although he lost the battle, he escaped without being captured and disappeared into the deep mists of history.
Therefore, it leaves behind many legends.
Today is the day to honour Owain Glyndŵr.
There are many events taking place all over Wales. ![]()

And I still work today at Powis Castle, the castle that was attacked by Owain Glyndŵr (laughs).

The castle and gardens were probably different at the time than they are now, but I imagine Prince Owain saw the same view. ![]()
