2024 National Science Popularization Day: Unveiling Scientific Achievements and Inspiring Innovation

From synthetic starch to China’s Spallation Neutron Source, from Kuafu’s highly dynamic humanoid robot to the high-temperature gas-cooled reactor, a series of scientific and technological achievements were unveiled at the main event of the 2024 National Science Popularization Day.

Main Event Highlights

The main event, held at the National Science and Technology Communication Center and the China Science and Technology Museum, featured five parts, including “Working together to build the dream of a strong country – National Science Popularization Day Everyone Takes Action”, “Emerging technologies help development – New quality and productivity science popularization exhibition”, and more.

The “Emerging Technologies Aid Development – New Productivity Science Popularization Exhibition” showcased the “Artificial Sun”, fully superconducting Tokamak (EAST) nuclear fusion experimental device, the lunar scientific research station, “Tianwen-1”, and other cutting-edge exhibits.

Fun Physics Exhibition

The “Fun Physics” exhibition project of Beijing Jiaotong University Physics Demonstration and Exploration Laboratory aimed to stimulate young people’s interest in physics through virtual simulations, experimental instruments, and equipment.

Science Popularization in the New Era

Chen Zheng, associate professor at the School of Physical Sciences and Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University, emphasized the importance of science popularization in the new era, highlighting the need to cultivate scientific thinking and promote the scientific spirit.

Ancient Science and Technology Exhibition

The “Fire of Civilization Is Inherited Forever – Thematic Exhibition of Ancient Science and Technology on the Central Axis” highlighted the scientific value and technological connotation contained in the central axis, showcasing the modular proportional relationship, symmetrical layout, and acoustic effect of the Temple of Heaven.

Stars Shining on the Future of Chinese Science and Technology

The “Stars Shining on the Future of Chinese Science and Technology” exhibition at the China Science and Technology Museum promoted the spirit of Daqing, the spirit of “two bombs and a satellite”, the spirit of scientists, and the polar spirit.
