Venom for President: A Creative Concept Explored

This imaginative concept is unprecedented for a Marvel character. Venom, the iconic symbiote, has had quite a few adventures and transformations, from being a Tyrannosaurus rex disguise to riding a skateboard as a kid. Loki had a presidential transformation that appeared in the Disney+ original series. Venom may not be the most anticipated Commander-in-Chief, but he’s likely to be heavily invested in off-world policy.

This concept is highlighted in a cosplay shared by @mr.markmeer on Instagram, which imagines the symbiote as the president on the campaign trail, along with his secret agent to protect him. The cosplay shows just how far Marvel can go with creative storytelling.

Venom for President Highlights an Intriguing Concept

The Symbiote Wouldn’t Be the First Villain to Run for Public Office

The symbiote appears in a suit with a campaign button that said, “Poison for the President. Rotten to the core.” Complete with his white spider symbol tie. @zaxmon1 is credited as Venom’s secret agent, and the two attended DragonCon. The symbiote also comes with its own running mate as it competes for the Venom/Eddie Brock ticket.

Considering Venom’s efforts to become King in Black after his confrontation with Knull, it’s safe to say that the symbiote is no stranger to leadership. However, he hasn’t been in the role for long, and may need more time to develop before he can run an entire nation of multiple species, not just Klinta.

Marvel’s Multiverse Provides the Perfect Venue for Creative Stories and Angles

Not really, considering the many twists that can happen in the comics and on screen now thanks to the existence of the multiverse. Given the existence of President Loki, there could be several universes where other iconic heroes and villains have moved into positions of power, much like Lex Luthor did in the DC universe. After all, even the Red Skull has served a term as president in the Wasteland series, a spin-off of Old Man Logan.

Venom’s presidency could be something worth exploring and following, especially if Marvel is being creative, as evidenced by the fan cosplay.

Venom is a symbiotic alien entity that has bonded with various human hosts, most notably Eddie Brock and later Flash Thompson. It grants him superhuman strength, agility, and a shape-shifting black costume. Originally a villain of Spider-Man, Venom has evolved into an anti-hero who fights both villains and his own darker impulses. The character embodies themes of duality and redemption within the Marvel Universe.

First appearance: The Amazing Spider-Man
