Guizhou Provincial Forestry Bureau Launches “National Ecological Day” – Guizhou Youth “Ecological Little ‍Messengers Explore Yuntai Mountain” ​Nature Education Activity

The ‍”Little Eco-Messengers Exploring⁣ Yuntaishan – Guizhou Youth’s ‘Beautiful China‍ Ecological Expedition'”‌ event, hosted by the Guizhou Provincial Forest Care Campaign Executive ⁢Committee, Guizhou Provincial Forestry Bureau, Shibing‌ County People’s Government, and undertaken by​ Shibing County Karst World Natural Heritage and Landscape Management Bureau,​ came to a successful ⁢conclusion from August 13 to 15.

The activity invited 5 experts to serve as lecturers, leading nearly 60 teenagers aged 5 ‌to 17 from ​all⁤ over Guizhou to carry out a 3-day and 2-night nature survey in Yuntaishan Scenic Area, Shibing⁤ County. The children became “ecological messengers” and went deep into the ​secrets ⁣of Yuntaishan, which is ​known as the “treasure basin of plants ‍and treasure house⁣ of animals”, deeply experienced the dolomite karst landscape,⁢ and ​had close contact with nature.

The activities included ⁤karst forest nature⁢ survey notes,‌ simulated⁢ biodiversity field monitoring, making insect specimens, ‍night​ ecological observation ⁣with light-lured insects, live broadcast of ecological classroom and small forum on ecological civilization. Under the guidance of five‌ nature ‍mentors, Ran Jingcheng, Xu ⁤Fangling, Zhang Haibo, Wang Min and Li ‍Chengze, the children were full of curiosity and handed‌ over​ every blade ​of grass, tree and stone they picked up to the teachers.

Through this on-site teaching, the children initially mastered the methods and ​steps of capturing ​and⁤ making animal ​specimens such as spiders, beetles, and butterflies, learned the functions and​ operating skills of infrared cameras, ⁤witnessed the rich and ⁤colorful biodiversity of nature, ⁤and realized the connection between ecological protection and ecological ⁤civilization.

The three-day nature survey left the children with a lasting⁤ impression and received⁣ continuous praise from ‌parents. At⁢ the end of the activity, the​ children​ crawled on the⁢ large canvas to write and paint, leaving behind the ​friendship between classmates⁢ and the respect between teachers and⁢ students.

The event ⁢received multi-dimensional‌ publicity ‌and coverage from multiple media ​outlets, ⁢including CCTV, People’s Daily ⁢Online, China National Radio, Guizhou⁤ TV, Guizhou Daily, and Colorful Guizhou Online. It was broadcast​ on ‍CCTV’s “News Broadcast” program through a combination of multiple forms such as “CCTV ⁢Live + ⁢TikTok +​ News ​Broadcast +”, and was⁢ recommended on the front ‌page of the day by multiple media outlets.

This⁢ scientific expedition,⁢ with young people as ⁣the protagonists, is not only a long-term ecological civilization propaganda, ⁤but also an innovative practice in line with the new era.​ Through the activities, young people can learn a wealth of natural ⁣knowledge,‌ cultivate natural science literacy, and establish correct​ ecological values. At the same time, ​it also gives full play to children’s hands-on ability ​and observation ability, which helps ‍to further ⁤arouse the⁣ ecological awareness‌ of‍ the whole people and promote‍ the participation of the whole society in ecological environment protection.
