Unlikely Union: REMO Ruffini and Sir Jony Ive Join Forces in a Celebration of Visionary Genius
September 24, 2024, Milan, the LoveFrom, MONCLER series was officially released today. This is the first coat series created by the legendary designer Jony.
In the collaborative project, Jony and Remo led the LoveFrom team and the Moncler team to show team friendship and mutual respect through design. The series uses unique fabrics, exquisite details and a new interpretation of low-key buttons, showing Jony’s extraordinary design attainments and Moncler’s superb craftsmanship and unlimited creativity.

Seamless structure
This design is inspired by a new high-quality recycled nylon developed by Moncler. This fiber material is specially developed for the LoveFrom collaboration series, warp dyed and air-jet spun. The air-jet spinning process uses compressed air to texturize the yarn and create a matte effect, giving the fabric a natural fiber texture. This fabric is made on super-large looms, and each piece is made from a single piece of fabric, which is folded to create a unique seamless shape.
The collection features a three-layer shell with an inner liner. Classic field jackets, parkas and waterproof capes are updated and connected to the liner with exquisite magnetic clasps for easy on and off. These practical silhouettes combine subversive practical functions and contrast with soft colors, reflecting Sir Jony’s love of subcultures.
“Two-button” design
The core of this collaborative series – the ingeniously designed magnetic “two-in-one buckle” shows the deep connection between the two brands. Each jacket uses a unique layering system to connect the lining. The metal magnetic buckle is engraved with the logos of the two brands. The two parts of the magnetic buckle are made of aluminum, brass, steel and high-grade heat-resistant magnets, and they make a pleasant “click” sound when buckled. During the design process, Jony kept this sound in mind, which also reflects the mutual attraction and cooperative friendship between LoveFrom and Moncler.
To produce and assemble this innovative button, LoveFrom developed and built a series of new processes and equipment, including a new process for precisely cutting multiple layers of fabric.
Friendship Stories
Moncler’s classic care guide comic strip still features Monduck the down duck, but now also has a special guest: Montgomery the LoveFrom bear. The liner is yellow, the field jacket is green, the parka is light blue and the waterproof cape is orange. All outerwear is available in off-white.

Craftsmanship runs through the design process, demonstrating a meticulous and rigorous attitude.
The same is true for the packaging, which is a simple and elegant black graphic on a white background, and interprets the collection in a joyful style, with small clothing models that show the various flexible layering options. The inner box of the packaging is folded from a single sheet of paper, and the entire box is also folded and assembled, echoing the jacket made of a single piece of fabric. All packaging elements, including the handles, are made from 40% recycled paper.
The LoveFrom, MONCLER series will be officially launched on October 29, 2024 at the Moncler China Shanghai Henglong Plaza boutique, the Moncler mini program and the Moncler China official website moncler.cn.

Sir Jony Ive is a designer.
He joined Apple in 1992. As Apple’s former chief design officer, Jony was primarily responsible for the design of the company’s hardware, user interface and product packaging, as well as large-scale architectural projects such as Apple’s headquarters and Apple retail stores. He has been the head of the design team for more than 20 years and has created classic designs for iMac, PowerBook, MacBook, iBook, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods and HomePod.
Apple co-founder Steve Jobs called Jony his creative partner and spiritual confidant. He once said: “Most products are conceived by Jony and I together. Jony is often cited as one of the most culturally influential people in the UK.
